The man is home…

Today I woke up at 3am and went to pick up my man after his 7 month deployment to the Middle East. I received a phone call yesterday morning that said he would be here today around 4:45 am. So I got to the pickup location by 4:30 and he finally showed up at 5:30am, along with about 200-250 other guys. Four charter buses full of guys came pulling up and unloaded all at the same time. Needless to say it was chaos, ACUs everywhere and it was dark to boot! So finally I saw him and the look on his face was priceless. After all this time we were finally back together. Of course he asked where the kids were…with my in-laws at our house, thank goodness, it was way too early for them to be up and out. As we went through the next hour or two of business to get out of there I just revealed in the fact that he was finally home. He couldn’t believe how much weight I had lost (30lbs) and he was genuinely surprised. Just being able to hold hands, kiss and even just look at each other sent shivers all over my body. It made the last seven months disappear. He was finally home and we were together again…at least for a little while.bens-first-day-home-10-30-07-008.jpg
